The Empire Struck Back – Fan Art!!!

The Story So Far…

Today we get to see the second part of the fantastic trilogy of fan art that was sent in by Abhay, from Andover, Massachusetts. After yesterday’s first installment of the gang from Peanizles transformed into Star Wars characters, we get a second helping today! This time we have an amazingly evil looking Chuck, all decked out as Darth Vader, or as he prefers to be called Darth Chuck, and Oliver, the not-so-scary monster who sleeps under his bed doing his best Chewbacca impersonation, Chewliver.

Tomorrow, we get the final part of this newest Star Wars Trilogy coming your way.

The Star Wars Trilogy Cometh!!!

This week I’m going to be sharing the ambitious series of drawings of Chuck and the gang sent in by eleven year old, super-fan, Abhay, from Andover, Massachusetts. Abhay set about the colossal task of turning Chuck, Succotash, Grace, and Oliver into various characters from Star Wars. I’m breaking the artwork into three pieces, and I’m going to be showcasing it her over the next couple days for you. The first, which has Succotash as Han Solo, or Solotash, and Grace doing her best Princess Leia, which has now been dubbed, Princess Graia.

I’ve got to admit these are some of the funnest, and funniest, versions of the characters that I’ve gotten. Thanks, Abhay!

And keep the awesome artwork coming!!!

It’s Interview Time!!!

Hey Gang! I recently did an interview with Dustin Luca at the Andover Townsman about Peanizles.

It was great fun, getting to sit down and talk to Dustin about the world of webcomics, comics, and all things Peanizles. And to be honest, it felt a lot like being home. For those of you who don’t know, my first long running, weekly comic strip ran in the pages of the Andover Townsman from spring of 1998 to April 7 of last year. The comic strip was called “Entering Andover” (a name which I had for years wanted to change to “Q and A” in honor of the two kids, Quentin and Andrea, of the comic strip) and revolved around a family of four, the Dad at work, the kids at school and the Mother with her massive task of trying to hold everything, and everyone together. It was fun. I got to explore so much as a cartoonist, and got to work with some amazing people at the newspaper. But, unfortunately, with the rise of Peanizles, which had quickly become much more priority, and the constant struggle with the newspaper to keep the Entering Andover going in print, which was becoming more, and more difficult, as space on the printed page was quickly becoming a weekly issue. I decided to retire the comic strip for a while. I loved the characters, and I love the comic. And I’m sure that I’ll be working with them again some day. But, for now, Chuck, Succotash, Grace, Oliver, J.R., and the gang are more than enough to keep me occupied.

If you haven’t seen it yet, and you’re interested, you can read the whole thing over here at the Andover Townsman’s website!

Fan Art – The Many Faces Of Chuck

Well, a big thanks goes out to eleven year old superfan Sebastian, from North Andover, Massachusetts! Sebastian created a whole page of Chuck in his many guises. Here Sebastian has given us Chuck looking much taller, in his forties, shorter, protesting homework (which is something he does very often, let me tell you), turning cool, and as a dictator. He especially liked the last bit. Way to go Sebastian, and keep those amazing drawings coming!!!

Now I wonder what he’d make Succotash look like…
