I have seen spinners on minivans a lot more than one would think spinners should actually exist on minivans. In fact, I have actually seen homemade spinners on minivans. And I have seen homemade spinners that were made from pie pans that were somehow tacked on the car’s wheels. It was one of those moments where your brain registers what you are seeing, but tries to deny that you are actually witness what you think you are seeing.

In June of 2004 Peanizles hit the magazine shelf of bookstores around the world.
It was in that issue that a bland, black and white comic strip appeared featuring Chuck B., Mingus and a rare glimpse of Sydnie. At that point Skope was an up and coming music magazine having just transformed from a black and white ‘zine to a full color magazine taking on the big guys like Rolling Stone and Spin. In the next twenty four months Skope was distributed all over the world, reaching readers as far away as Australia and being sold in bookstores everywhere. But, given the unfortunate trend of print magazines being hit hard in 2008 Skope fell victim to the recession and became a digital only magazine. Peanizles appearing in the magazine on a regular basis fell by the wayside.
Until now. Peanizles is, once again, available on Skope. So, take a minute if you have it and check out Skope when you get a moment.

This was my first San Diego Comic Con, and it was as crazy, as large, and as fun as everybody described. If you’ve never been, my telling you what it’s like won’t do it justice. It’s something you just have to experience for yourself. Melissa and I got to see so many other great cartoonists, all of whom really were wonderful, and it’s so gratifying when you get to meet your heroes and people you admire and they are even nicer than you hoped. Most notably, Dave Kellet, from Sheldon, and Keith Knight from the infamous K Chronicles. If you aren’t familiar with either, do yourself a favor and run out and open another tab in your browser and start reading, you’ll be glad you did.
Now all that’s left is to get ready for next year’s convention and my own booth.
